CODE is an annual print magazine that engages in art, science, and fashion, featuring interviews with artists, musicians, writers, and scientists from institutions such as CERN and NASA.

June 14th marked the arrival of CODE 03 in Berlin, from the starry firmament above to the oculus of Earth itself - the same boundless yet expanding eye.

CODE 03, features our cover star Alejandra Ghersi aka Arca alongside other visual artists, astrophysicists, philosophers of science, and new age thinkers.

Among our peers we have a unique opportunity to merge different perspectives, ideas, and backgrounds to present a physical manifestation of our values.

CODE represents a convergence of interdisciplinary fields, culture, music, community and since its inception this is what we aimed for when defining new media.

Macro/micro dichotomies – between cosmic incomprehensibility and subatomic weirdness – meld into a single river. “The science of one age eventually becomes the mythology of the next.” As above, so below. CODE 03 : A Body in the Form of a Planet examines – over more than 300 pages and in a dizzying ascent of scientific, artistic and philosophical voices – the tension in distinguishing between what is currently understood and what is as yet unknown.

Amidst an array of fashion editorials, think-pieces, poetry, philosophy, science, astrological history and high-concept performance art, contributors such as: Arca; Dorion Sagan; Dr. Sarah Pearson; Female Pentimento; Jenna Sutela; Cru Encarnação; Hendrik Schneider; Dylan Van Roost; Max Lange; Samuel Guerrero; Bridget Hamel; the Amazonian Kichwa of Sarayaku; and NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory individually and collectively interrogate where the lines between shadow and light, cosmic and microscopic, magic and science blur.
